One search. Official sources. Clear next steps.
SearchRecalls is an independent consumer utility. We tell you what an official record says. We never certify that a product is safe.
Where the data comes from
Four federal agencies publish U.S. product recalls, each on its own site in its own format. SearchRecalls pulls their records into one database and puts a single search in front of them.
- U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC): cribs, strollers, sleepers, toys, clothing, furniture, appliances and most household products. Included.
- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA): car seats and boosters, plus vehicles and tires. Included.
- U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA): infant formula, baby food, and bottles and pacifiers regulated as medical devices. Not yet included.
- USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA): meat, poultry and egg products. Not yet included.
Records are synced nightly. This copy was last updated 2026-10-21.
What we add
Results are grouped by product, not by agency, so a car seat recall from NHTSA sits next to a crib recall from CPSC. Each recall page answers three questions in order: is this my product, what is the issue, and what do I do. When a search finds nothing, we say exactly what was searched and when it was last synced.
What we don’t do
We don’t change the facts. Product names, hazards, remedies and contact details are the agency’s own words, lightly cleaned. Every recall page links to the official notice, and that notice is the authority if anything here disagrees with it.
A search with no match is not a safety rating. A product can be unsafe without a recall, and recalls are sometimes announced or expanded after our last sync.
Vehicle recalls are matched by VIN and are better served by NHTSA’s own lookup, so they are not included in search here.
How the site makes money
As an Amazon Associate, SearchRecalls earns from qualifying purchases. Recall pages include a link to search Amazon for current products of the same type, with the recalled brand left out of the search. We never link to the recalled product. These links are marked as paid links, kept separate from the official remedy, and cost you nothing extra. There are no ads and no sponsored placements in search results.
Recall alerts
If you sign up for alerts, we use your email address only to send recall notices for the categories you chose. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
